Kansas City Style Rib Rub

Kansas City Style is one of the best dry rubs for ribs and its simple to make.  We recommend making a large batch to save time.  The recipe below makes about a cup.  Refer to the storage section for more details.

Ingredients

1/2 cup/120 mL brown sugar
1/4 cup/60 mL paprika
1 tablespoon/15 mL black pepper
1 tablespoon/15 mL salt
1 tablespoon/15 mL chili powder
1 tablespoon/15 mL garlic powder
1 tablespoon/15 mL onion powder
1 teaspoon/5 mL cayenne

Buy your spices and make your rubs in bulk after you have confidence.  Store in large stainless steel container with lid

You’ll save time by making large batches and storing for later use. Be sure to label when you make the batch.  We recommend throwing out spices if stored for more than 1 year.
