Classic Barbecue Spice Dry Rub

The Classic Barbecue Spice Rub is great on pork ribs or burnt ends.


  • 4 Tsp Kosher salt
  • 2 Tsp pure chile powder
  • 2 Tsp light brown sugar
  • 2 Tsp granulated garlic
  •  2 Tsp paprika
  • 1 Tsp celery Seed
  • 1 Tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 Tsp freshly ground black pepper

Note: For a sweeter rub add an additional teaspoon of sugar and 1 teaspoon of ground ginger.   You can also modify the chile powder to smoked chile powder if you like a heavier rub.
